The College Library of the Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College named as ‘RISHI BANKIM LIBRARY’ is now located in 2nd floor of the new building ‘B-Block’. Rishi Bankim Library (RBL) has been running since the inception of the college itself on 1947. The library began its journey with the help of very small number of books of only commerce faculty. Now all streams such as Art & Humanities, Commerce & Management and Science with UG and PG (M.Com.only) are taught in this college. The RBL is computerized (Automated) through the Integrated Library Management software KOHA (Customized) with around 17,000 printed books. Library services are provided to students, faculties, co-staffs of the college and other members (outsiders) who satisfy required terms and conditions.
The college has a Research Sub-committee to encourage, facilitate and supervise the research initiatives of the faculties and students. It always inspires the teachers to go for Major or Minor projects funded by UGC or any other similar bodies. Over the last two decades, a good number of faculties went for MRP or FDP. Some of them completed self-funded projects for doctoral degree. The college library is a very good resource for the researchers; in fact there is a research corner equipped with ICT tools in the library. As for students, they also get sufficient aid to complete the projects or dissertations that may be a part of their curriculum at UG or PG levels.
