Our Facilities

Experienced Faculty

Experienced Faculty members are one of the most lucrative features of this institution. They always adopt student-centric method that facilitates experiential learning as well as participative learning. The faculties put to effect problem-solving modalities that have an enhancing impact on the learning experience. They are all in favour of using ICT-enabled tools and e-resources. As and when needed, on line classes and Evaluation are conducted through video conferencing on virtual platforms. Identification of advanced and slow learners is made by the faculties soon after the beginning of the semesters, and proper measures are taken accordingly. Remedial coaching and career counselling is done regularly in every academic year.

Research

The college has a Research Sub-committee to encourage, facilitate and supervise the research initiatives of the faculties and students. It always inspires the teachers to go for Major or Minor projects funded by UGC or any other similar bodies. Over the last two decades, a good number of faculties went for MRP or FDP. Some of them completed self-funded projects for doctoral degree. The college library is a very good resource for the researchers; in fact there is a research corner equipped with ICT tools in the library. As for students, they also get sufficient aid to complete the projects or dissertations that may be a part of their curriculum at UG or PG levels.

Central Library

The College Library of the Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College named as ‘RISHI BANKIM LIBRARY’ is now located in 2nd floor of the new building ‘B-Block’. Rishi Bankim Library (RBL) has been running since the inception of the college itself on 1947. The library began its journey with the help of very small number of books of only commerce faculty. Now all streams such as Art & Humanities, Commerce & Management and Science with UG and PG (M.Com.only) are taught in this college. The RBL is computerized (Automated) through the Integrated Library Management software KOHA (Customized) with around 17,000 printed books. Library services are provided to students, faculties, co-staffs of the college and other members (outsiders) who satisfy required terms and conditions.

Placement Cell

The placement cell of RBCEC has been working throughout the year. It arranges ‘Job Fair’ at the college campus once a year. A separate whatsapp group has been created to share the job news. A career counselling programme is also arranged at the college every year. It offers not only a job but an internship too, to enhance student’s skills. The companies that recruit students are mainly from marketing, banking, accounting and the software sector. Some of them are the Tata Consultancy Service, Flipkart, Axis Bank, Cocentrix, Davision Software, Black Key Software, Vap technology, and V.K.C. group. The package relating to these companies normally range between INR 1.8L to 2.4 L. RBCEC is also associated with Internshala, one of the top internship platform in India. The B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. students are eligible for registration to placements.
